Letting Go of What Doesn’t Serve You

Letting Go of What Doesn’t Serve You

My business coach talks all the time about letting go of all the things in life that don’t serve you.  I have heard this a million times but it’s like until it hits your like a sack of bricks you don’t realize what it is that’s not serving you.

As women it is almost ingrained in us and everything society depicts that we should do for everyone else before ourselves, especially as mothers.  So it takes some time to reflect on yourself and your life and to determine what you are giving your time, energy etc… to that isn’t benefitting you.  It takes time to realize this and I don’t know about you but I almost feel like I need permission to not do these things that I have trained myself to believe that I am responsible for.  But until we take the time to realize that we as a person, are just as important as our children, our husband, friends, coworkers, boss etc… then we will not realize the importance of taking care of ourselves FIRST then everyone else second. We can’t pour from an empty cup!

So, you need to really take a minute to evaluate and self-reflect on what you are doing and who or what are you giving energy to that doesn’t benefit you; and is not worthy of your precious time and energy that you could be putting into yourself!

A small thing that I realized recently is that although I want to support everyone, I can’t be a part of every person’s facebook group.  If you aren’t actively engaging in their group you are actually negatively impacting their numbers anyways.  So, it’s ok to remove yourself from their groups if the notifications are building up and it’s just time you don’t have.  From a person who runs a Facebook group, I totally recommend this for everyone and I give you permission to remove yourself with no hurt feelings. Also, while you are at it, you can unsubscribe from any emails that you don’t actually want to receive.  And it’s okay to unfriend or unfollow anyone on social media that posts things that gives you stress, frustration, negativity etc… It’s okay to put you first before these people, because it’s not serving you!  If you have a person in your life that is an energy sucker and they are not serving you it’s okay to take a break from them if you need to.  YOU need to come first.

Tell me what you are letting go of this week!
